If you have long blind cords or looped cords, cut them or tie them up. The cords can easily strangle pets and children, if left dangling. Leave just enough cord so you can use the blinds, but don't leave any that will cause a problem. You may prevent a tragedy by removing the excess cord.

If you don't want to invest money into buying a slipcover for your chair, you can make your own from a bed sheet. Buy a twin or queen-size bed sheet from cotton in the color of your choice. Drape it over your chair, and affix it with safety pins in a fashion that isn't noticeable.

If you want to keep the toilet bowl clean, just add bleach from time to time. While the bleach may not smell great, taking the time to clean them this way will leave your toilet looking lovely, and will also disinfect it. Scented bleaches can help limit the smell.

Consider converting unused rooms in your house. Before you spend too much money adding an extra room or two to your home, seriously look at what you have to work with. Are you getting much use out of that exercise room or office? Even storage spaces like attics can be transformed into something useful, like a bedroom.
Create space in a cramped bathroom. Build floor-to-ceiling cabinets, and store similar items in baskets. This avoids any clutter on the countertop. A corner storage unit in your shower is perfect for holding shampoo, conditioner and any other items you may need. A great tip for creating space is to get rid of everything that isn't used on a regular basis. This can include out of date medications in your medicine cabinet or beauty products that you tried and didn't like. By clearing these out, you will have plenty of room for things that you actually use!
